Diagnostics & Advanced
Open Settings → Diagnostics for tools to diagnose connection problems and tune how GivLocal communicates with your hardware.
Connection Benchmark
Section titled “Connection Benchmark”Tests each available connection method against your inverter and recommends the best one for your hardware and network.
- Open Settings → Diagnostics → Connection Benchmark
- Tap Run Benchmark
- GivLocal will test each method in turn
- The recommended method is highlighted — tap Apply to use it
Previous benchmark results are shown so you can compare across sessions.
Inverter Method
Section titled “Inverter Method”Selects the connection strategy GivLocal uses to communicate with your inverter. Method 3 is the default and works for most devices. If you experience connection issues, run the Connection Benchmark to find the best method for your setup.
Verbose Frame Logging
Section titled “Verbose Frame Logging”When enabled, GivLocal captures the raw bytes sent and received in each communication with the inverter. This is primarily useful for bug reports or diagnosing unusual behaviour.
Confirm Writes
Section titled “Confirm Writes”When enabled, GivLocal shows a confirmation prompt before writing any setting to the inverter. This adds a safety step to prevent accidental changes.
A separate Confirm Commissioning Writes toggle applies the same protection to settings in the Installer / Commissioning section.
Battery Diagnostics
Section titled “Battery Diagnostics”Show Calculated State of Health — displays a calculated battery health percentage on the battery cell detail sheet, when BMS capacity data is available from the inverter.
Debug Log
Section titled “Debug Log”GivLocal maintains an internal debug log that can be exported for troubleshooting. Use Export Log to share it, or Clear Log to reset it.
Reset App Defaults
Section titled “Reset App Defaults”Settings → Reset App Defaults wipes all preferences and returns GivLocal to a clean state, as if freshly installed.
